Welcome to my website! My name is Emily Patrick, and this is my seventh year teaching at MSJH, but my twenty-second in the classroom. For the past two decades, I have taught math to middle school students, and I have enjoyed the time that I have spent with these seventh and eighth grade students.
I was awarded a Master's degree in mathematics education from Eastern Illinois University, where I focused primarily on the education of middle school aged students. I have an intrinsic appreciation for the patterns and rules that guide mathematics, and I am constantly searching for ways to make mathematics more reachable for my students.
I grew up in Sullivan, Illinois, where I was the second of four daughters. I currently live in Mahomet with my husband of nineteen years, my son, our two cats (Hamilton and Milo), our lovebird (Rosie), and two gerbils (Cloud and Cinnamon). When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, traveling, kayaking, doing martial arts, playing games, being outdoors, photography, exploring architecture, spending time with my family and friends, and playing with my son.
